Don’t Let The Present Slip Away As You Worry About The Future

I’m beginning to feel like life is a series of big decisions with no clear answer for how things will turn out, no matter what we choose.

Worrying about the future is just something that we do. My concern is for when worrying turns into something that stands in our way. When the worry causes daily anxiety or makes us freeze in our tracks — that’s when we need to look inwards.

There’s no magic pill for ridding ourselves of thinking about the future. To see the future unfold can be fun, and often unexpected in the best ways. If your perspective is more fearful than excited and curious, you can change it. If you’re worried that you’re headed for failure, disaster, or challenge, I hope you find some solace in these words.

The future days aren’t guaranteed. You’re wasting your time if that’s where you let your mind solely reside. What about right now? Who and how are you being right this very moment?

The now. That’s what you have control over. It’s the only guarantee.

When you’re future thinking, rest assured that if you’re positioning yourself right now, aimed at something you’d like some day. Pointing yourself, heart-forward, towards what you could maybe imagine 5 months from now, a year from now. That is well. That is enough.

For now…

Say yes more often.
Step out of your cozy comfort.
Challenge your thoughts and your body.
Make choices that both feel good and do good.
Do what you love. Do it often.
Tell people how you feel. Be honest.
Set intentions. Set goals.
Work hard and rest fully.
Put down distraction and be present.

I feel better about the future when I appreciate each day. If you really think about it, your nearest future is happening right now. And now. And now. It’s every next moment and second. You choose how to receive it.

Becoming Bold will really help you to worry less about the future. The lessons it’s comprised of help you to look at your present life in a way that hands the power back to you. I show you how to make changes that you can feel good about. Changes that make the future seem less terrifying and more like something you can create.

Thank you for taking the time for my post. I really like hearing from you and would be open to suggestions for what you’d like to see me write about on my blog. You are so much a part of what The Courage Collective is — so thank you.
